Inspiring Artist of the week: William Turner

John Constable believed the sky was the heart of a painting, and in the work of William turner, it is entirely true. Turner expressed raw emotion and power in his skies, his work "Slavers throwing overboard the bodies of the dead and dying" shows a common practice of slave ships throwing overboard the deceased bodies of slaves so that they may claim insurance for their cargo drowning. The practice was just as appalling as Turner described it in his painting.
