Diptychs are two images that are separate but create a singular emotion or feeling. This is my final for my last drawing class, the left is of Cap'n America, the right is a still life of some boots a weapon and a helmet. The meaning i was going for was that of youth versus age. The Cap'n figure is a toy of the character, something a kid would play with, representing youth. The still life is military themed, something that is a reality for me. As a kid i played with action figures, believing in their heroism, as an adult i joined the military, still hoping to imitate my childhood heroes. I may not be cap'n America, but at least i can still pretend.
