RyMow is a student at the University of Oregon and has been making impressive art through digital mediums. He has worked on everything from scanner to 3D art. I had the privilege of attending one of his art shows recently, Heres what i saw.
While Im on the subject of chairs, check out this do it yourself chair, brilliantly titled the do-hit chair. Retailing at 9,700 bucks this chair allows you to get all your rage out on a stainless steel box, which you mold into a chair form depending on your individual strikes. Although the concept is brilliant, i can see lawsuits in this chairs future from all the sharp edges created from smashing the hell out of it. check it out.
I saw this high chair at a barbecue the other day, and i was very interested in its design. The look is very modern and reminiscent of Eero Saarinen's Tulip chair. The base is swivel with a large round bottom. The make is plastic which helps with its affordability and mass production. Saarinen was a designer of the 20th century who excelled with organic designs, he also led the market in his abilities to create furniture for mass production. here is an example.
Ive listened to thrice off and on for a bit, wouldn't call myself a huge fan but they definitely have some good stuff. Their recent music videos have been awesome, everything a music video should be, narrative and visually engaging. The video for image of the invisible came out last year but is still a great example of short film making, the colors are great, the composition is stellar and it really tries to become more than a music video. check it out.
Coarse Toys has released new figures that are half man, half shark. These figures are 13" tall and have some interesting patterns and color choices, definitely screams 2010. The packaging for the figures is super sweet as well, designed with the same motif as the characters shorts. check it out.
These toys remind me of a childhood figurine i havnt seen in a while, and if i remember right, they were pretty jawsome!
Oooo this gets me giddy, heres a rendition of a possible poster celebrating our favorite guardian of sector 2814, Green lantern! I grew up reading this as a kid, so im pretty excited hearing the movie is on its way, but heres a fake movie poster to get your cookie wet.
Found this link through a forum discussion with some Avatar: TLAB fans, its a lengthy article but it really defines how Shamwow approaches and directs a movie. If your an airbender fan this is a must read.
